Online Radio Vs Podcasting – Mass Media Tribe Meetup

19 August 2020 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Our guest speaker at the Mass Media Tribe Meetup on August 19, 2020, will be radio show host, Toni Lontis, from the Gold Coast.

After 35 years in nursing across many specialties and levels of heath, Toni sat down in 2018 to write about her life after being encouraged to do so during her healing and self-discovery processes.

Resilience – Memoir of a Broken Little Girl discovering a woman of strength and beauty, was published in Jan 2019. In her book, Toni talks candidly about her colourful life. This powerful account is an unexpected page-turner that has you on the edge of your seat wondering what happens next.

From her early childhood battle with a congenital facial defect, through debilitating battles in school to her traumatic entry into the adult world. It details her struggle with anxiety and depression, low self-esteem and a longing for love and happiness.

Released into the slipstream of the #metoo movement, her memoir details her own traumatic incidences of assault and domestic violence. She openly questions the time in her life when consent and respectful relationships were not talked about. The book then chronicles the battle to get justice for her family in the wake of her daughter’s abuse disclosure and Toni’s personal battle to help and free her daughter from the impacts of that abuse. This memoir is a vulnerable and truthful account of the courage it takes to heal and the resilience required to endure.

After publishing her memoir, Toni embarked on a marketing strategy that included working with and on social media, increasing her social media presence and creating networks of people. During this time, she also produced the audiobook and was introduced to the power of the spoken word. This led to a conversation about podcasting, a phone call about online radio and its difference to podcasting and Radio Toni was born.

Toni now has multiple live streaming radio shows on different platforms, based in the USA and broadcasting to the world. She uses the power of the spoken word to tell the stories that the world needs to hear. Believing that everybody and every business has a story, everyone has something to say and she is determined to help you say it.

Event host- Media Queen Aldwyn Altuney- will also present a special segment on a surprise crucial element of How to Gain Free Publicity before introducing the guest speaker.
