Founding member of the legendary group THE SEEKERS – Australian icon, Keith Potger AO – is flying from NSW to the Gold Coast to perform at the Animal Action Day for Aussie Wildlife charity fun day at Mermaid Waters Hotel, 97 Markeri St, Mermaid Waters, on November 19, from 10am to 5pm – the 17th annual Animal Action event on the Gold Coast!.
All proceeds raised go towards helping grass-roots Gold Coast charity Aussie Wildlife, which rescues and rehabilitates wildlife which has been abused, injured or abandoned.
The Nerang sanctuary has about 30 native animals in care at the moment.
The Animal Action Day for Aussie Wildlife aims to raise awareness, appreciation and respect for all animals. We have raised funds and awareness for multiple animal charities globally since 2007.
The November 19 event will also feature performers including singer/ songwriter/ entertainer Lesyah Malveen, country singer/ songwriter Tyson Colman and singer guitarist Xanthe Lees.
There will be face painting by Painted Faces and yoga teacher Sonali Johri will do a Calming Breathwork Stretch Session on the day.
Animal Action Events founder Aldwyn Altuney will MC and speakers include City of Gold Coast Councillor for Division 11 and Chair of the Lifestyle and Community Committee Hermann Vorster, Aussie Wildlife founder Jenni Abbott, internationally acclaimed author of Swan Song/ multi award-winning Land of the Free producer Lynn Santer, Brisbane animal communicator Annie Bourke and Ipswich resident Jill Prior (aka nurse Jilly from Kitchen GP) who is coming to share her story of rescuing a wedgetail eagle in Esk earlier this year.
There will also be stalls and thousands of dollars of raffle prizes. The first 25 people to attend the event will receive the world’s best-selling calendar (another Gold Coast icon) – an Australian Firefighters Calendar.
Everyone is donating their time and prizes.
